Ingredients of Hydrabadi Chicken Dum Biryani

  1. Prepare 500 grams of basmati rice.
  2. It’s 500 grams of chicken.
  3. Prepare 3 of onions.
  4. It’s 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
  5. Prepare 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
  6. You need 1 tbsp of red chilli powder.
  7. You need 1 tbsp of coriander powder.
  8. Take to taste of Salt.
  9. It’s 1/2 cup of curd.
  10. It’s 1 tsp of lemon juice.
  11. Take 100 ml of ghee/oil.

  16. You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  17. It’s 1 of "cinnamon stick.

Hydrabadi Chicken Dum Biryani step by step

  1. In a bowl marinate chicken wirh curd,lemon juice,1 tsp oil and ginger garlic paste.Leave for 30 minutes..
  2. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel,fry one sliced onion to golden brown,take out..
  3. Add whole garam masala in the remaining oil,add 2 sliced onion and fry till pink..
  4. Add chicken and powdered spices,mix and add 1 cup water.Add salt also..
  5. Cover and cook for 10 minutes,or till half cook..
  6. After 10 minutes add pre soaked basmati rice to chicken and add 500 water also.Adjust salt..
  7. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes on medium flame..
  8. Now biryani is almost ready,put an aluminium foil on the vessel,cover the lid and leave on dum for 10 minutes on very low flame..
  9. After 10 minutes biryani is fully prepared.Serve hot..
