Ingredients of Dum Chicken Masala
- Prepare 1 kg of Chicken cut into medium sized pieces.
- You need 3 of medium sized onions.
- It’s 1 of small Garlic.
- Prepare 1 inch of Ginger.
- It’s 1 of medium sized tomato.
- Take 1 teaspoon of Dhania powder.
- Make ready 1 teaspoon of cumin powder.
- You need 1 teaspoon of chilli powder.
- It’s 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder.
- Take 1 teaspoon of Garam masala powder.
- Take 2 strips of Cinnamon.
- Take 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
- Prepare 3 of cardamoms.
- It’s 100 g of curd.
- Make ready 1 tablespoon of Vinegar.
- Take 1 tablespoon of mustard oil.
- Take As needed of oil.
- Prepare 1 tablespoon of butter.
- You need To taste of Salt.
Dum Chicken Masala step by step
- Marinate the chicken overnight with vinegar, curd and mustard oil.
- Cut the onions, tomato and garlic into fine and small pieces.
- Heat a pan and add some oil into it. Add the cinnamon, cardamom,cumin seeds and bayleaf into it.
- Add the chicken pieces into this with salt and fry till it's golden brown.Remove and keep aside.
- Add some butter into the remaining oil and saute the onion, ginger, garlic and tomato. Remove and let it cool and then make a paste of it.
- Add some oil into a pan and add this masala, salt and saute it for a while. Add the chicken into it and mix it well.
- Add some warm water into this and let it cook covered in low flame. Cook till the chicken softens.
- Add water based on how much gravy you need. Once the chicken is cooked,add Garam masala and remove.
- Chicken dum masala is ready to be served with Rice or Paratha.
