Ingredients of Simply Braised Cabbage
- Take 1 of white cabbage.
- You need A few of sprigs of fresh thyme.
- Make ready 1 tbsp of salted butter.
- You need 600 ml of stock, chicken or vegetable is fine.
- Prepare as needed of Olive oil.
- Prepare 200 g of bacon, smoked or unsmoked is fine to use.
- Take to taste of Salt.
Simply Braised Cabbage step by step
- Discard the outer cabbage leaves and then cut the cabbage in half and then finely slice the cabbage, alternatively you can use a cabbage grater. Discard the core of the cabbage..
- Over a medium heat bring the stock to boiling point along with the bacon and thyme sprigs..
- Once the stock is boiling add in the cabbage. Mix it well. Cover with lid and boil for 5 minutes..
- Finally add in the butter and a good drizzle of olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Serve immediately..
