  1. Prepare of rice.
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup of cuban sofrito, recipe attached.
  3. It’s 1 1/2 cup of black rice.
  4. Prepare 3 cup of beef broth.
  5. Make ready 1 tbsp of annato seed oil, recipe attached.
  6. It’s 1 lb of lean ground beef.
  7. Take 6 oz of diced ham, precooked.
  8. Make ready 1 cup of black beans, I will also attach my recipe for them but you can use rinsed and drained canned beans.
  9. Take 2/3 cup of minced yellow onion.
  10. Make ready 1 of red bell pepper, finely chopped.
  11. Prepare 3 of minced cloves of garlic.
  12. Make ready 1 tbsp of smoked spanish paprika.
  13. Take 1/2 tsp of garlic powder.
  14. Prepare 1/2 tsp of salt.
  15. Make ready 3/4 tsp of ground cumin.
  16. Take 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes.
  17. Make ready 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro.
  18. Make ready 3/4 tsp of sriracha.
  19. You need 1 of sour cream to garnish.

Truly Dirty Rice step by step

  1. Wash and rinse rice in cold water until the black color just about stops showing in rinsing..
  2. Drain well. In a sauce pan bring broth to a boil. Add rice. Reduce heat to low, cover. Cook up to 60 minutes until rice is tender. In the meantime you can prepare sofrito and make annato seed oil..
  3. In deep skillet, on medium heat, add oil and brown beef until no longer pink.

  1. Add in ham, cooked beans, sofrito, onion, garlic, red pepper, sriracha and spices. Cook for 5 minutes.
